HFF 7 Die Hochschule FÜR FERNSEHEN UND FILM München Die Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München ist ihrem Selbstverständnis nach Ort einer umfassenden Bildung und Ausbildung mit dem Ziel, begabte junge Menschen in ihrer Entwicklung zu künstlerischen Persönlichkeiten zu fördern und sie auf ihrem Weg zu einem individuellen filmischen Ausdrucksvermögen zu ermutigen und zu begleiten. Die Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München legt gleicher- maßen besonderen Wert auf umfassende gestalterische, film- handwerklich-technische, medienwirtschaftliche und medien wissenschaftliche Ausbildung, auf Freiraum für ästhetische Experimente, auf filmsprachliche Innovation und auf einen komplexen inhaltlichen Diskurs über das filmische Erzählen als Reflexion der gesellschaftlichen Wirklichkeit. Die Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München stellt das „Lernen durch Tun“ als zentralen methodischen Ansatz in den Mittelpunkt der Ausbildung, im besonderen das Filmschaffen der Studierenden. Dieser gestalterische Schaffensprozess der Studierenden wird betreut und begleitet, um die speziellen Gesetzmäßigkeiten schöpferischer Arbeit zu verstehen. Die Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München will im eigentlichen Wortsinn von Avantgarde im aktuellen filmischen Diskurs wie auch bei formalen Standards einen Schritt voran- gehen. Damit setzt sich unsere Hochschule zum Ziel, über die aktuellen Erfordernisse des Film- und Fernsehmarktes hinaus, diesen nicht allein zu bedienen, sondern mit künstlerischen Persönlichkeiten zu bereichern und somit dem Filmschaffen in Deutschland prägende Impulse zu geben. HFF’s Precepts The University of Television and Film Munich, Germany (HFF) sees itself as a place that offers comprehensive education and training with the aim of promoting talented young people in their develop- ment as artistic personalities while encouraging and accompanying them on their way to finding an individual filmic means of expression. The University of Television and Film Munich attaches importance above all to comprehensive training in artistic design, technical skill in filmmaking and the commercial and professional sides of the me- dia, to the freedom to carry out aesthetic experiments, to innovations in the language of film, and to a complex discussion of filmic narrative as a reflection on social reality. The University of Television and Film Munich focuses on “learning by doing” as its primary methodological approach, and in particular on the creation of films by the students. The academy looks after and accompanies the students’ creative artistic process with the aim for them to understand the inherent patterns of creative work. The University of Television and Film Munich wants to take a step forward, in the literal sense of the word avant-garde, in the current cinematic discourse as well as in formal standards. To this end our academy sets the goal, above and beyond the current requirements of the film and television market, of not serving this market alone, but rather of enriching it with new artistic talent and thus giving decisive impulses to filmmaking in Germany.
